Alert
48 Hour Boil Water Advisory
December 14, 2025
12/14/2025 10:45 PM
I just came from the site of the City's Water Main break and they were within minutes of starting to pressure test the repair. From there they will have to fill and flush the line which will take some time. Although they will be flushing fire hydrants along Cache Rd to get contamination out of the line, we always end up with sediment in the water after it has been shut off for some time. I recommend you turn on your tub faucet (the only faucet in most houses that has no screens on it which would get plugged with the sediment. Run that until the water is clear. (as clear as our water ever is with the minerals in it)
Anytime the water pressure has been off, we are required to implement a 48 Hour Boil Water Advisory. This is starting at midnight tonight. We will be taking multiple line test samples to the laboratory to ensure our water is safe to drink within that time. Unless later told otherwise, this advisory will end at midnight Tuesday night.

Update 12/141/2025 5:45 PM
December 14, 2025
After sending the earlier apology about not being able to communicate, I went to the site of the line break. BAD NEWS! They have not even been able to begin repairing the main line. There was a geyser 50-60' in the air (above the high lines, I have a video of it) and to shut that off, they closed the valve that SHOULD HAVE shut off Goodyear Blvd. Unfortunately, the valve would not close sufficiently and they had to start closing off valves along Cache Rd, until everything coming West from the water tower was shut off.
There is still water flowing in the excavation so you cannot get to the line. The City water dept brought a big pump out to be able to pump the hole faster than it is filling, hoping they could repair the line with minimal flow in it. But another "bad news" they are missing a gasket for one of the hose connections and had not yet gotten the big pump in service and the multiple smaller pumps weren't making much headway.
So, they do not yet know what the actual damage to the line is so don't know what parts will be necessary to repair it. They do know it is a 24" line, which is very big, but they do not know what blew out, whether it is a joint, a junction, or what, so don't know what it will take for parts to fix it.
I do not expect the line to be fixed and our water service restored before midnight. And that is ASSUMING the City will have the necessary pipe and parts on hand to make the repair when they get to it.
Again, I apologize about not being able to put out any information or alerts sooner.
I will not be returning calls or messages left regarding this outage as these notices are the only way I can contact everyone. (I'm physically unable to make 600 phone calls.)
APOLOGY
December 14, 2025
The City of Lawton has blown a water main so all the water on the west side is shut off.
I apologize that I was unable to get an alert out as I was on the highway on my way back from Ft Worth when it occurred. From now on I will carry a computer with me when leaving town so I can post notices.
Inexplicably, when hurrying out early this morning, I also walked off without the emergency phone... and I see that I've missed now over 70 calls. If you called, I hope you receive this alert as there is no way I can return 70 calls.
They thought the water would be back on and the water tower refilled this afternoon/evening, at which time our water service will be restored.
